The biggest festival of the Bengali New Year to be celebrated out of Bangladesh is back again as Boishakhi Mela, taking place for two days on 19th and 20th May, 2012, in Banglatown, Tower Hamlets. Parades, music, dance, food stalls and rickshaw rides will make people feel at home in Banglatown and get involved in the festivities.

This year's planned performances in Boishakhi Mela at Tower Hamlets will be much larger and better than previous ones, with a first ever Bangladesh trade fair and expo kicking off the proceedings on Saturday 19th May. This will be followed by the traditional festivities of internationally highly praised performers, culinary delights and family entertainment on show on Sunday 20th May 2012.

Working closely together with Tower Hamlets Council, the Boishakhi Mela Community Trust (BMCT), plan to showcase the pinnacle of Bangladeshi talent in the arts, music and culture.
